Helicopter safety during the landing phase
Get ready when you hear the sound of , or watching the helicopter come . Wear clothes with bright colors . Remember that it is often difficult for the pilot to see you from the air. You contribute to helicopter safety for both the pilot and yourself if you are wearing equipment that has powerful color. Only a yellow vest that you often have in the car , will be of great help . The more eyes you are, the better for helicopter safety . Do not stand where the helicopter will land ! Stand instead at the periphery of the space to be landed on , and with the face directed towards the helicopter so the pilot can see you. Keep arms outstretched as pilot realize that you mark the square. Just before the helicopter touches down in front of you, it will blow very powerful and noise is formidable. Wise to have both earmuffs and goggles for dust or snow .
When the rotor of the helicopter has completely stopped , you can approach . Look for the pilot makes clear sign for you to get away before the rotor is stationary , remember that you NEVER must go behind the helicopter and the pilot must ALWAYS be able to see YOU if the rotor is running.
